FAQ 6: Who is the work appropriate for?  Or not appropriate for?

Manual therapies, including Rolfing® Structural Integration, are appropriate for people of all ages and all walks of life, from infants to elders and both genders.  Generally, anyone who is mentally competent and physically able can receive the work.  Clients must be able to comfortably tolerate touch at moderate to strong pressure.  The exception would be people suffering from acute traumas like wounds, injuries, or infections; or when inflammation, fever, or contagion are present.

Some practitioners of Structural Integration even work on companion animals like dogs and horses.  My focus is with people who want to enhance their performance and recover from trauma or health issues.

If you presently have, or ever had, any acute condition or illness -- please be sure to seek appropriate medical treatment.  It's best to contact me as soon as possible to also consider manual therapy.  Timely work can often reduce the structural aftermath of injury, illness, or accident and help you avoid a more complicated, long-term degradation.  We can start as soon as you have been released by your doctor.

If you're concerned about timing or being able to receive the work, please call me.
